Yeah I did Ford Rd the Sunday before and it was frozen in most spots, then did it again on Thursday and it was a lake.

Snuck out yesterday after work. Had a great rip outbound, and caught a great sunset inbound.

Went to Cline this morning with a whole crew of guys. Crazy stuff... got into some really fun little rock gardens and eventually started getting tired of the rock gardens. About that time the permafrost started greasing up and it was honestly some of the hardest riding I've ever done. Slick as whale snot at any time, whether you're riding on what appeared to be dry dirt, moist dirt, or mud. I had one good off where I was very lucky to have cleared a large boulder and very lucky to be wearing good gear. I wasn't the only one to donate skin or bike parts to the trail today. Couldn't believe VT-Transplant negotiated that stuff on a stock DR with Deathwings. Holy crap.... although he did "modify" both sides of the bike...

No gas in Denio

Just thought I'd post a quick note. I read over on benddualsport.com that they are replacing the gas tanks at the station in Denio and won't be operational until May.

After reading about the slickery stuff at Cline and being short on time, Tony and I headed out to the OHV area behind the Bend airport last Sunday. The conditions were near perfect. There were a couple of snotty corners to keep things interesting, but the FABULOUS dirt more than made up for that. Nothing technical out there, but it's nice to get up a little speed, too! We had a blast!

Anyhoo, if you need a quick outing (or just want to stay upright), it's a good romp.

I've never been out there, I need to take a look. Pretty close to my house...

Hampton

Found out over last weekend's ride to CV that Shelley (the former operator of the Lakeside restaurant) has (re) opened the Hampton store. Fuel and cooked meals available. Adds a nice pit stop alternative out east of Brothers.

Did you go to the area right at the end (north) of the runway or further up by Someday Way?

Millican

Took a ride out in the Millican area last Friday and passed through it again on Saturday (on way to CV) and back again on Sunday. Conditions are epic. No snow/ice. Soil is moist for the most part but it is dusty in places!

We almost always enter just across from the Pronghorn entrance. We hit quite a few new trails last Sunday to minimize our time on the main road which is still rutted all to heck. But I actually had fun with the ruts and mud on the way back. They don't skeer me anymore!

And when will Tony learn that I will NOT follow him into a large mud puddle?

Has anybody been out in Fort Rock OHV? I'd love to head out there this weekend if it's not snow and ice in the trees.

Sorry to miss last nights get together! Was hoping to sneak out from basketball but the coaches were short handed and needed another parental unit to keep the monkeys in check.

I went down to fort rock ohv last weekend, but turned around almost immediately. From the tiny bit I saw it was almost constant snow or ice under the trees. Unless someone else has more recent info I don't think I'd bother trying down there.

Not rideable...at all. Try Millican, Cline or Buckhorn. All three in great shape now.
