We'd been weeding the veges when McCardigan turned up. There wasn't time to go and wash my hands before I was required to sit and drink beer

Thanks to Ian's suggestions and Rosie's help,who spent time yesterday downsizing all my photo's from the previous 10 days,I'm am now able to upload to Smugmug, still very slow, but it is begining to happen, so this afternoon/evening, and as there is nothing else to do on Xmas day I will update with my recent travels through little known but bloody spectacular roads, scenery, pubs etc, in the east of the North Island basically in the area from Rotorua in the middle over to Gisbourne and down to Napier and allmost every back road inbetween.

And here is my office for the next 5 days The beautiful old world style Grand, and grand it is, complete with a couple of bars and resturant including a good Irish bar.

with a safe lockup garage

then on Boxing Day just a very short stroll from the Grand is the world famous Cemetery Circuit at Wagannui, this year is the 60th, regarded as the Southern Hemisphere equivelant of the IOM.
Then on Thursday again just another short stroll down to the river to watch a round of the premier class jet boat races, current world champion is a NZ lad and is competing

And inbetween is the Boxing Day cricket test series, and given the 2 hr time difference, racing here finishes around 4.30pm and its back to the pub to watch the days proceedings..

Tough life, but I can do it

Good have fun mate, it was a pleasure having you stay. Once you have the report up to date, have a look on the map east of hwy 4. A good loop out of whanganui is the whangaehu and turakina valley roads
