900 gs

Anybody heard anything about a 900GS ? Given that the 650 was modified in design and engine (F700) I ask myself why the Husky Nuda 900 engine was not incorporated and the 800 was not modified at all. Maybe they are waiting for the new 1200 and then launch the 900 as a 2014 ? I am interested in an 800 (900 respectively) but certainly not with the old setup months before the new is ready for launch. Have heard rumours again rgd a 900 ADV also.

The 650 wasn't modified engine wise. It has been and remains a 798 despite the 650 and now 700 badging. Since they just did a face lift on the F8 and F7 I doubt there will be a complete redo for a couple years. If there was an F900GS for next year (or two) I expect they would have left the F series unmodified. Change=expense

What face lift for the 800 ? There are no changes but colours and the ESA and slip control options as far as I know while the 700 is modified optically and the engine has a changed software and 4 more HP plus a different gear ratio. The 800 has the same output and design i.e. is unchanged since the launch. Or so I believe

2013 f800gs

I was in Touratech today and they just got there new 2013 F800GS. The only noticeable differences were the ESA of course, turn signals on left side so no more right hand push button for signal. The beak has two large holes going through it into the radiator area. Voltage regulator is a little more protected and the stock rear rack surrounding the exhaust and right side of the bike. The rear handle to ride two up had two little knobs in the middle of it, kinda weird. It looked pretty nice but am not regretting buying my 2012 a while back.

The body work has definitely been tweaked on on the F800 for this model year.

As for an F9GS, I think it's more likely there'll be an off-road Nuda:

Just what I said. No face lift that one right ? Have fun on the 2012 GS !! I'll keep my 08 1200GS (only 45 k so far) and still hope for the 900 ADV.

No engine changes for the F800. The 700 got some new cams based on the HP and at what rpm it is delivered at, plus the need for premium gas.

There are enough spy photos out of the waterhead 1250gs, to be a 2013 model.

I expect BMW engineers had some input into the 2 Husky 650 models and the Nuda, since they are all Rotax derivatives.

In other words to many irons in the fire to deal with engines for the F800.

Husqvarna has already said the Nuda is not coming to the US for a while, if ever. I don't think the entire engine is for dirt, unless you are an expert. Big valves, lumpy cams and 13:1 compression. The only part I want to see changed is the displacement and crankshaft. OK maybe the suspension, if it is any better.

Maybe next year.

I test rode a Nuda a few months back. The motor on that thing kicked ass. It felt totally different then the 800 but I don't know why they made it a 900.

I really wish someone would make a small lightweight twin with at least 180 mile range and decent components. Give it a strong subframe and keep it under or around 350 pounds. I don't get the push to just make bikes bigger. 700cc's should be enough power for my needs. Pipe dream I know.

It's unlikely that there will be a proper model in the range, but there's a fair chance you'll be able to get hold of one. I've been talking to Touratech about the possibility for a limited run of X-cross Nudas, or at least kits to allow customers to build their own, as they do with the Oryx. Doesn't Aprilla make something like this....SXV or something, supermoto though, probably has a weak subframe. Not close to 700 cc's either, OK maybe I'm wrong......

I've ridden the Nuda 900 and, while it's a sensational motor, it's too thirsty and buzzy to be a replacement for the standard F800 engine, especially if it's meant to live in a GS.
