Thanks for the replies, I went on eBay and bought a cheap one by Moose for ~$24. Let's see how much fun I have keeping up with it...

For any of the noobs, just to reiterate. Bring water!
Some water bottles strapped to your bike at minimum. Most dirt guys wear the "camel back" type hydration packs. I always thought the hydration back packs were sort of gimmicky. Till I wore one while dirtbike riding. The ability to drink without having to take your helmet off is absolutely awesome.

Im in!!!! This will be my first year and I'm really looking forward to it. Gonna spoon on some fresh rubber and freshen up the fluids in the DRZ this week.

I'll be there solo from the Chatrlottesville area, anyone want to share a campsite? Depending on the weather I might come over in the truck (if it's cold) or just try to ride over the bare essentals on the bike if the weather looks good. Shoot me a PM if you want to split a site.

To make a long story short, I have a spare ticket for both days. PM me if interested. Cost is $135 which is, as you know, what I paid for it.

When I read your post I thought to myself "Gimmicky? Only a crack head could think a backpack full of water could be a bad thing."

As stated before, just being super sarcastic

Question Tires

I have a set of Metzler Tourance on my F650 GS. Will those be ok for this ride? I don't intend to do anything crazy and I'm an off road noob and just like to enjoy the ride.
