Count me in on that. I would love to explore more on that side. I want to do the same thing, smaller bike/technical ride, but want to go west..maybe Hermosa to Scotch Creek, up Hillside dr, down Little bear to Bear Creek, across to Priest Gulch to Calico and return via East Fork to Bolan Pass..that is roughly the mega one day singletrack ride I have been envisioning this winter...

No reason not to just ride the 450 up

The first RMAR there was some idjut that rode his KLX from NM up to westfest in MT then down to RMAR. Of course that same idjut also showed up at the 2nd RMAR with a broked leg and cane strapped to the back of his bike.

Certainly, RMAR is all about single-track and the fun of throwing about a 220lb bike on single track...a plated 220 lb bike....but remember that the RMAR RDV is also about ...... ALL RIDERS.....everyone from a 200 lb, 2-stroker that is plated....to the 300lb single trackers...to the 600 lb adventure bikes.

Being the owner of a VStrom....I am proud of the fact that RMAR events welcome everyone and have riding for everyone........

To add to what John said, its just best to bring multiple bikes if you got them. If my XR650R is overhauled by then I'll also bring it too should I want an easy day out (oh those that know me the easy day tends to be the XR650R on Hermosa Creek)

I'm happy the event is really for everyone. We all consider an "ADVENTURE" in many different forms. Some slabbing it from FL to CO while hauling a Dual Sport behind their ST1300 is the adventure, or the dud eon the sport bike...it's all good. It's the company I come for.

Thumb So much fun last year......

So I am IN for this year. Thanks to Big John an his trusty helpers, this event was too much fun. Look forward to riding and partying w all you FF's. I will bring a bunch of wood and a firepan again if we are allowed by the forest service.

Thanks for that Big John. I was getting a little worried about the riding. I'm pretty new to offroad with a KLR and was hoping for something a little less "adventurous" then what you guys have been talking about. If one is camping with a tent, do you know if there is an area or one spot for one tent type camping?

One of the fantastic things about this area is there is something for everyone. There are awesome paved twisties, and some easier dirt roads right out of Silverton. If you want to stretch yourself a little, you can go a little further up the mountain. You'll be able to meet some riders like yourself and team together and ride.

Regarding camping or other lodging, go to our event page http://www.rmariders.org/rmar-rendezvous.html and check the info under "Lodging".
