This is the flavor of the bike I was hoping we'd get, but what we got still looks pretty good and Honda is hitting an aggressive price point.

Don't see anything on that picture there that can't be easily added aftermarket.
Here's a good video I just discovered from Cycleworld. http://bcove.me/r9jkwh4q |

I guess the other thing for me on this one is that a T100 is not really a T120, not even the same company, ditto for the W650/800 twins. Don't get me wrong, they are lovely bikes. In fact I bought a W when they came out (a year before the Hinkley Bonnies actually) and put a delightful 15,000 miles on it before I sold it. Riding it tho you always had a sense it was trying to be something it wasn't, a bit like a Japanese Harley. Honda, on the other hand, revolutionized the motorcycle market with the CB750 and there appears to be more than a little of that DNA in the new 1100. This bike isn't trying to be a CB, it really is one brought up to spec for modern times. If Harley can make a fortune by mining it's past, I don't see why Honda can't make a success with this. The truth be told, most of us didn't start on FL's, we started on CB's.

1969
Back in 69 at the ripe age of 25 my wife and I bought a new 1969 750K. It cost $1495 out the door. I bought it from Dell Miller who owned Gentry Motors in Rockledge, Florida. #1 on US 1. He ended up selling 100 of these the first year. Ours was green. They also came in gold & red. This new 1100 has my attention. I'll probably buy one. It looks like a m/c should.

This just made it to my list. I was surprised at this release but Honda has my attention (another 50 something here also). Thanks for the retro look without resorting to spoked wheels.

Just got off the phone with the dealer. He has two coming in. In white, for Canada? Oh well. I gave him a price point I can deal with. Under that, I'm going to order one. Always liked basic UJM's. Time will tell.

First thing I asked is if my deposit was 100% refundable...
I anticipate some shenanigans by the dealer to try to get me to pay a premium... |

I liked the prototype better - it looked lower and leaner...

It's the tail light that gives it a chunkier look over the prototype. That was a change to meet DOT requirements, and same goes for those turn signals up front.
