Don't even get me started on chain-driven standard bikes like my Triumph Scrambler that sold for $7500+ new (in 2008) and didn't include a tach, a center stand, a locking, hinged seat, a locking gas cap or self-cancelling turn signals - all of which my '82 Kawasaki had (and that one also had shaft drive and cast wheels.)

Test rode a new 2013 today - wow! What a bike. Absolutely beautiful, and very nice power and handling. It just works as a total package for me. I bought it immediately.

I have had some fast motorcycles, but this one has very usable power. The brakes are excellent. The handling is light. It looks very good. And the ergos are perfect for me at 5'10", 30" inseam.

Clearly this is a vanity project for some nutjob at Honda. You can tell that they had a very clear idea of the experience they wanted to deliver, vs. trying to meet certain performance benchmarks, and they did it with very few compromises. It is every bit as cool as a Bonnie, but twice the bike.

2013 CB1100 ABS for sale in flea market

Not sure if this is a rule breaker but FYI for the CB 1100 fans. My 2013 CB1100 ABS is for sale in the flea market.

Why are you selling it? Please don't tell me you like the CTX better.

why?

It's complicated. I should never have ridden the DCT. A year ago I turned away in disgust when I saw the CTX's. By chance saw the naked version in the sunlight. Looked pretty good. My daughter says it looks like "Batman's motorcycle". Test ride sealed the deal. I've never ridden a foot forward control bike before. With the low slung engine these bikes handle like a dream and the DCT is amazing.

My wife has never wanted to ride but since we got the CTX she asks me every evening to take her out. She likes that we don't bump heads as the shifting is so seamless. The seat height is also something she prefers. Traded the CBR 500 for the CTX. Find myself now riding the CTX almost exclusively. That bike will be leaving with my son for college soon. He loves it.

So today I asked them to look at my CB as a trade for the faired CTX with DCT plus bags and a back rest. Don't know yet how bad I'm going to lose on the deal since the manager is out racing. Rode the CB all morning. Best time I've had on it so far. So much torque, handles great and looks amazing. This will probably be painful

I agree, but better is this fuel tank on a CB 1100 EX, with spoked wheels and different side covers.

so has anyone got the 2014 deluxe model yet? I haven't seen it anywhere except Honda's website.

I'm wondering how mad Mrs B would get if I left the house one day on a V-Strom and came home on a CB1100....

Would she notice? Two bikes in my garage, if one became something else, my wife might realize something is different in, oh, maybe......never!
