Free to owner: Spot Connect, found on TAT

I just got back from riding the TAT and found a Spot Connect pretty much right on the trail.

I have emailed SPOT but no reply yet.

Anyone lose one? PM me with the serial or authorization number and I will ship it back to you.

I should mention it was powered up and blinking until I removed the batteries at my kitchen table yesterday. I didn't realize it was on until then.

Mods, if there is a better place for it please move it.

I will also go back and check my notes as to where I found it, and post this in that regional forum.

Thanks,
Dean

obviously would be cool to have the owner "Spot" the post... but would be very cool and even appropriate to receive a response from Spot themselves.

and of course.... cudos to you for posting this thread.

Just leave it on and the owner can just come to your location, at the very least within a few feet. I'd like to hear the owner telling his buddies that he lost his SPOT, I know what reaction I'd get. Good for you making an attempt to locate the owner. Good luck...

Go back to the spot you found it on the trail. Wipe finger prints. Hit 911 button.

The owner will have it back soon.

you should be able to call Spot, tell them the ID number under the battery cover, and they could give you the owners phone contact numbers they have on file.

just hit the OK button multiple times, this will send emails to all the owners friends, and probably his wife.
This will let them know that the SPOT has been found, and he can go online to find your location and come and get it.

Better to do it while sitting in the parking lot of a different Adult Shop every afternoon.
