no need to go "jo mamma" on the folks that had to wear a dress themselves

some basic info for the new folks (so you can't say you didn't know):

you gotta wear a dress it's that simple, we supply the dress, you wear it, we laugh. Some people do get by, but we won't know you then - so better be a good sport and make friends ... and some may have to pay back dearly for not speaking up last year (I made a mental list)

last years victims of Boojums de-n00bing ceremony:

OK, enough about dresses.

We have more important things to think about.

Mainly,
BEER!

Black Bear sent me a price list for kegs, that includes some local brews from Depot St. Brewing, in Jonesborough, Tn. Since I've never tried any of their beer, I do believe a scouting trip is in order...

Some Saturday soon, we're going to head over there from Asheville. Any volunteers?

That'd be close to an 800 mile trip for me so could you please try:

Southbound Scottish Ale
ON TAP NOW
Winner 3rd Place Best in Show at the 2006 Carolinas Championship of Beer
- An rich reddish beer with a smooth malt character, low bitterness, and a slight smoky finish reminiscent of single malt scotch. Good with steaks and other hearty meals. 6% ABV

and if it's as good as I think it is, get some for one night.

Please?????

Loose Caboose Lager is pretty good. Never had the ale. They have a stout I tried once and damn if it didn't climb out of the glass and punch me in the face. It was a bit strong...

If you guys are into dark beers, it's hard to beat Duck Rabbit out of Farmville, NC. Really great stuff coming out of that brewery.

I've had the opportunity to drink most of the Stouts available from Ireland and Scotland and despite that fact that I an second generation Irish, Scotts Stouts are the best. If that brewery can even come close to Belhaven, Hardy's or McEwans Stout, it'll be a little piece of heaven.
