Worse than rock bottom......

I Donít know what it is but since getting back to UK after our mammoth ride from Australia, the whole motorbiking thing just isnít doing it for me. My wife Kate is using her XT 250 quite a bit to commute but my DR has sat in the garage for months.

Kate was at work today so with 21 degree sunshine forecast, I thought I better give the old bike a spin. It started up pretty much straight away which was a pleasant surprise. I canít believe that the original battery which is nearly 6 years old is still going strong!
I headed out through the streets of South East London

Through the burbs

and finally after an hour or so, made it to the country.

and very nice it was too.
I rode around a bit looking at nice villages and enjoying the roads but it all seemed so boring. Too many of these didnít help

So I decided to call it a day and head home. I took a few wrong turns and a bad day just hit rock bottom, well even lower than that actually!!

After this little moment I thought I should take the opportunity to really end the day off badly and went to Ikea and spent £90 on a lampshade.
Can anyone help me?

Doing things is better than having things.

Here's my advice :

1) Return the lamp shade, get your money back if possible. No lamp shade made
has ever increased happiness or improved quality of life.

2) Go to a map store. Look at maps. Start brainstorming about your next trip. Don't allow any
restrictions in your thinking. Just start thinking freely about what you'd like to do and where you'd
like to go. Once you have some ideas which excite you, start working on making them really
happen.

A life without excitement is a life with one foot in the grave. It's no way to live, it's just a way to exist.

3) And read Ride Reports until you fall asleep every night, OK!

Went thru the same thing after the Copper Canyon in Mexico. Eventually cured it by going smaller and more responsive than my KLR...Honda XR250. Now everywhere is attainable and an adventure.

Have you seen Boole Tree yet? If you are happy, at least the big wood would likely put a smile on her face.
