Passing Colorado
Disclosure:
I flunked my creative writing class, my grammar is horrible, and my photography skills are limited by equipment and technique. Now that I have set the expectation, I will get on with the story telling. (Well more photos to share then words. Seriously, like you FF’s are that good at reading…. )Over the past couple of years my fellow Pub Crawlers(http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=465380) and I have been riding the back roads of Colorado, hitting the TAT and other various know trails. We have navigated through Cinnamon, Hancock, Stony, California, Black Bear and Devils Punch Bowl(up it not down) just to name a few passes and trails. It is always a good time filled with the typical injuries and breakdowns. ![]() http://photobucket.com/Newnersoffroad2011 So it’s time to head up and cross some of the passes that we have not yet conquered. However the plan has changed, the core unit of riders have manage to come up with some rather poor excuses not to attend our annual ride. So below pictured from left to right would be the guys that I had once counted on to ride every year. I will recap the excuses: Dirt2007- Was working with Travis Pastrana to perfect a new stunt, and is now severely injured and cannot make the trip. Tomski74- Staying home to clean his litter box. Jumpjet- Did not have enough points saved on his capital one rewards card to go. ![]() Now I am responsible for keeping the tradition alive and report back all of the mis-adventures that await me. ![]() The Route: Truck to Del Norte, Engineer, Ophir, Imogene, Owl Creek, Pearl, Taylor, and CDT back. ![]() I am tentatively planning on hitting the Trail on Thursday 08/30. I will post some phone pics from the road as I make my way and post more details when I get back. Also: To all of the NewnerLoop haters and fans, I will attempt to subject the luggage system to something that resembles off-road riding. I will be documenting the progress.... .

Just put in a 200 mile day, filled with good riding, a bear encounter, and bumping into a Dakar legend...... Lots of pics to post later. Home for tonight.

Where are you camping? I am still at Castlelakes. We went into Lake City to eat, so we may have missed you if you came by. I am heading back towards home tomorrow.
