Hope some of you are planning to join us.

Remember you need permits for camping or the dirt rides. You do not need permits for the Beast ride...

I will probably be out there the next few weekends if anyone wants to ride.

I was out there the other day and they were nice enough to cut the grass....

Remeber there is plenty of Quiet (no generators) camping there at Spec. I think Inept has already picked out some trees for the hammock...

Loooking forward to it.

Would love to join you guys, but I've got a full day planned with the family. I have an expired range pass, so I've got to go take care of that this next week. Looking forward to the trot for sure. I've got my valves adjusted, installed the cooling fan kit and have one of those high tech super batteries on the way. 210 CCA's vs. the 80 CCA's with the OEM battery. Lithium Iron type...

Trot Information

Here is more information on the upcoming Trukey Trot

Camping
Primitive camping only. No water or electricity. Plenty of room for campers and RVs with generators. Grass has been recently cut!
“No – Generator” camping area at north or south end of lake. North end is shaded and south end is open.
We will have permits for camping starting Friday thru Sunday. You must have your Eglin Permit to ride or camp.
If anyone is going to camp Sunday night let me know.

Food
Bring what you like and a little extra to share. There is always plenty of food and spirits. Kraken available on request. There is a gas station/convenience store 4 miles away. Great BBQ place 6 miles away.
Trash – Please bring out everything you brought in.

Rides – The idea is for guys to get their own groups together and follow tracks or have one of the locals lead a group. There are no organized rides EXCEPT for Saturday morning. I will lead a group on a LONG RIDE as described below.

Loops
Red Loop – 35 Miles of challenging jeep roads including one rough creek crossing.

Blue Loop – 45 mile Extension of the Red loop. Takes riders South to the Hat Tree then Indigo Pond and back to Spec Pond.

Long Loop – 105 mile loop (includes Red and Blue loops). From Hat Tree head South on improved dirt roads to jeep trails along HW20. Food at Nick’s Seafood OR food at GAS Station and then eat at picnic table on the BAY.

Easy Loop – 45 miles of mostly improved dirt roads for the bigger or less skilled riders. You get a taste of Eglin without the very deep sand of the jeep trails.

Beast Loop – 100 miles of paved road through Eglin, up through Defuniak Springs and over to RED BARN for a great LUNCH and return along HW20 and views of the bay and then through Niceville and back to Spec Pond. About three to four hour ride depending on stops.

High Point in Florida Loop – This is an extension of Beast Loop that takes you up to the highest point in Florida for a Photo opp and return. Adds about an hour to Beast loop.

Any other questions give me a PM and all will be revealed..

Ladies Welcome!

Just got word that long time friends from Mobile (Jack and Lisa) will be joining us for the Trot. They were there last year.

I am also hoping TitaniumKaren and Dirtwoman will be there also. There will not be a womens ride.... you girls can easily hang with this crowd...

BTW if there are wives who would like to shadow riders that can be done pretty easily.... and we would have a support truck for the unlucky....
