Well. The count on page 3 is 28. We know that there are several locals that are planning on coming that have not said so on this thread. We have heard from some of the out of towners are coming and bringin friends. Some have made hotel reservations. None of those guys have confirmed attendance on this thread. So............... we are going to guess that we will have at least 50 if the weather is nice. If the weather sucks it'll probably be just a few of us locals LOL Some of us wll go no matter what. we can be stubborn at times.

No kidding on the weather. Hurricane Isaac screwed up the Springfield Mile for me. Now this damn Sandy thing could rain on this one. The path is supposed to be somewhat Northerly and Westerly according to our central MI weatherman though. Let's hope so. A weird time of year for a tropical storm up here.

Breakfast at the Depot in Griffin

For those that might like to ride just a bit before breakfast and get warmed up to boot.
The ride goes right by the "Depot" restaurant in the very small town of Griffin, Indiana.
This will be about 17 miles after seeing "Old Red" covered bridge.
Neat little place that use to be a railroad Depot.
It opens at 7AM.
This will be about 40 miles into the Saturday ride.

If your bike weighs more than 400lbs. You might not make it.

you might check to see if it's open. I pre-rode the route with someone and we were going to stop there and eat but they were closed up, about 10am on a weekday. maybe on the weekend it's different. we ended up eating in new harmony at the main st. cafe. just a heads up.

Good news from the weatherman for the ride according to our weather-guessers. Sandy is going to make a sharp turn to the NE and go into Eastern Canada pulling in blue skies all over the Midwest. Evansville should be OK.
Man I feel bad for the people on the East coast. 10 million w/o power. Floods and a big snowstorm in WV. At least we don't have to hear about politics for awhile. It will take a long time to recover from that mess. We have power companies clear from MI , IN, OH coming over to help you get the juice back on you Easterners ,so hang in there.

Tent Camping

Anyone else going to be tent camping at the Oakridge camp grounds? I hope they have some fire wood handy if the weather is anything like this past weekends HNF ride.

Camping for me if it ain't poorin' down rain and they got plenty of firewood---------Road Dad was wonderin' what I wanted to do. A fire at camp is great no matter how cold it gets.

Stupid weathermen-------says the wind is 4mph here at my house right now--------it's blowin a good 30 and gusting to 40.

Some people try to turn back their odometers.
Not me! I want people to know "why" I look this way.
I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.
