Good call! Personally , I don't like the headlight on my wr450. Maybe it will grow on me . I've always loved the look of the big round "baja" style lights

so first thing i bought/ screwed with, was the 12 o'clock labs processor chip:

that goes into the DRC edge 2 taillight , replacing the old board:

now, im not really going to go into this , because the instruction manual that came with board, was extremely well put together, i am very impressed by it. i did however have trouble with two things: 1: the three screws on the back, just wanted to strip. which was also mentioned in the installation book :

and 2 , once you install the chip, the wires are such a pain to feed through this tube! however the instruction booklet gives you a couple of options how to do it.

so the board that I installed into the tail light, makes the tail light brighter , and has integrated turn signals, and has a brake light flasher ability. and o yea, ignore my pants in the last pic, im doing all this in my room

also bought , was a drc edge universal mounting kit :

and it looks like it should use the stock tail light mounting holes , so no drilling.....or at least im hoping

I have a bew WR450 coming.
Anxious to see how your process goes. Mine will start next week.
We do not need signal lights, so hopefully I will have a little less to do.

Does the existing tail lite have a two filiment bulb? Could you have used it?
If so what would you do for a license plate holder?

Does the existing head lite have a hi/ low filiment? Will you use it or modify it?

Why are you installing the front banjo bolt brake switch, and not the rear. or are you doing both?

Anyhow thanks for posting your progress. You made a wise choice.

i will be using the stock headlight, it does have High /low filament. also one thing i noticed , the headlight is very easily adjusted. apply some pressure to the top or bottom and it pivots !

ill be doing both. i bought a manual switch for the back, but the hydraulic switch is such an easy install im goin to return the manual switch and get a hydraulic one

160 watts.

I'm keeping my eyes on this thread, keep up the good work. I desperately would like to see a WR450R in the near future, but I may look into going this route (down the road) if they don't deliver what we the people have been asking for.
