Damn, too far and too far.

Then again, my wife always wants to go to New England in the fall....

Think she would notice the trailer behind the truck?

They fit in a full size bed if you make a platform above the wheel wells!
Mine has been registered in Maine so should be easy to register in other states.

I was looking at the classifieds on Chang Jiang unlimited, and one particular CJ caught my eye, let's hope this is not a scam .

I definitely do NOT recommend Jim. I also know him, very well, and my experiences with him have been very poor. I had him do a CJ750 BMW conversion - it was a disaster (paid for a 750cc, got a 650cc). The bike was falling apart within weeks of one of his "total rebuilds". The original Chang engine ran MUCH better than the BMW he used.

I (and others) have also had him do some other work - the quality was poor, the prices were very high, a 2 week job took 7 months, and the end result was another disaster. And there were numerous misrepresentations made along the way.

He has now moved back to the USA, so his Beijing shop is essentially unmanaged.

YMMV, but I doubt it.

where to buy Dnepr

Well, since someone already mentioned Chang Jiang Experience, for Dneprs, I would recommend a private sale from someone who will be honest about what you are buying, so at least you know where you should start. Check out the Dneprheads Yahoo group, and the Russian Iron forum. You could possibly find one in driveable condition, with most of the inherent problems taken care of. I had a Dnepr, and once I got rid of the p.o.s. Russian motor, I rode the wheels off it for three years. If I was to make a suggestion for an alternative motor to the Dnepr p.o.s. motor, it would be to find an ohv Chang motor. It is a drop in fit, you get electric start, and a BMW style 20A alternator. You may have to go over the motor, but parts are cheap and available. If you want information on making Chang motors run well, contact Chris Jordan (immulmen) on the Soviet Steeds forum.
