So what is your impression of the bike as a rider?

The bike is a blast to ride. I ride it every chance I get.

Problems:
Initially the pipes were putting too much heat into the engine. The pipe wrap has helped and I've also built a small heat shield for the carb which I will post soon.

I still don't have the jetting completely worked out, but I'm getting close. My final jetting should be 45 idle, 137.5 main (at 9000 ft elevation).

The gas tank slips out of position. I need to redesign the rear bracket on it.

The rear wheel is a 16" which is real hard to find good rubber for. I'm currently running a D606 which isn't all that good for dirt, but I recently siped it and that helps.

It's sluggish when starting from a stop. I believe this is due to the carb slides not opening quickly enough and the heavy flywheel not disengaging quickly enough. When I get the proper tools, I plan on removing the dual mass portion of the flywheel and seeing how the bike performs. Right now the bike is most fun to ride at higher RPMs so I end up blasting through town on the thing which leads to the final issue I have with it:

It's stupid loud. I'll post a video soon. You'll notice in the video you can hear the bike before you can see it. The ID on the mufflers is much bigger than the ID on the headers so I hope to modify the pipe internals this winter and put a small ID perforated pipe in the muffler so I have more room for baffling.

Mine is never sluggish from the start--quite the opposite. Very easy to get rolling and up to speed.

Here's the heat shield I built for the carb.

First I made it out of cardboard

And fit it up

Then cut it out o 18ga steel, bent it to shape, and fusion welded some extra metal to the mounting tabs.

punched some holes

and trimmed it to fit

It installs nicely
