Library in the town I grew up in. This moves it a bit farther south east from where it had been.

I just downloaded the photobucket app on the iphone. When you upload a photo from your phone, it gives you the URL of the photo online. You just hit the picture button up there with the mountain on it, and paste the URL into it. boom. you have a picture posted.

I just send the pics I want to upload to the email address photobucket gave to upload stuff. Shortly after that it sends a reply with a link for each pic. I just click the link, grab the img tagged link and paste it here.

I've been posting these from the road.

What do you guys think about hiding a "mascot" at the tag? This would possibly make it more fair for those lacking a smartphone?

That way you take the mascot if you're first and if anybody shows up afterwards, they know they've been bruced because the mascot is gone.

The problem I see with it, is that anybody could happen upon the mascot and take it, so it would have to be well hidden.

It'd also nice to know before you head out if somebody has already taken the tag, so I would request that you at least post that you got it, even if you can't post the picture yet.

I dunno, just an idea. What do you think?

I could go grab a plastic toy or something and attach a tag to it stating that it's an official ADVRIDER Mid Michigan and the Thumb Photo Tag Game Extravaganza Mascot and any meddling with it w/o prior consent from an inmate is punishable by death...or something.

The mascot complicates things. If someone snags the photo tag before you get there, it's just part of the game. You got to go for a ride, that's the important part.

a Samsung Galaxy 3.2 will get your pics uploaded from any wifi spot. $129 bucks at BestBuy, no phone, no contract. It's marketed as an MP3 player, but it's a smart phone without a phone. Does wifi, bluetooth, pics, internet. Snag the shot, head up the street to a restaurant with wifi, post the shot.

Map

Just finished updating the map. As a kindness to me when you grab it or post the photo of the grab mention the location. It saves me lots of googlefu for the posts that don't have obvious signage in the shot. Much appreciated :)

If I am lucky I will be snagging the current tag on my way to softball this evening.

The mascot thing sounds interesting, although it may get stolen or hidden so well nobody can find it including those of us playing the game. I'm not opposed to the idea though, and maybe if we attach a laminated card saying the item is being used for a scavenger hunt and please don't tamper with it, people might leave it alone.

Maybe for those playing without smartphones, we could have a list of folks they could text when they grab a tag so someone can post it as being pending.
