Enough from you!!! Not going into winter...

Dude that's the perfect time to buy. Prices drop, and you can spend the winter dialing it in & farkling it up just in time for spring.

I know it's the perfect time, I was just trying to convince myself.

Ivory or Ebony?

White bikes will always look dirty (unless you clean them after every ride).
Black is beautiful (and you don't have to spend so much time keeping them so damn clean!).

Gotta 'waste' a first post somewhere! This bike started out 'Refrigerator White' - & that wasn't going to cut it.

It's now ivory on leather brown with flat black over (rusting) chrome exhaust & mirrors (not on in this pic).

Not that it's entirely trouble free - but much more better! Few years later & a few thousands of miles more, it's not quite so pretty.. but she still turns heads - & is a blast to !

Altho this pic was taken in Kiln MS - AKA, The Kill - the bike is now sitting about 150 miles west of Tail of the Dragon/Deals Gap - & I've yet to get there!

Thinking that ride might wait for a new rear tire.. Don't even want to

Wash your own bike? Clearly, sir, you have never seen the Girls & Bikes thread.

Greybeard57, your first post was not a waste. For putting it here, thank you. I'm sorry to say I can't see the picture you mentioned.

While I do wash my bikes and when I do I detail the shit out of 'em. But I do not do it anywhere near as often as I get accused of. The weather and the occasional water crossing usually takes care of touch up cleanings. Had a black bike way back in the day... That f*cker was always displaying the pollen of the day. White bikes!

Sorry dude but I have to completely disagree. I don' care if it's a bike or car, black is always dirty looking or it's flat black with texture then it probably won't. I will take a light colored bike any day.

Warsh??

I bought the bikes to ride, not show off my polishing skills!

But, I do wash my bike after every ride..... Sometimes the ride lasts all season!

Thanks for the welcome!

& damn!, no pic? Does this one show up?

Hope so - it's the same one with different code.

Here's a lower resolution cell phone pic taken while out riding

As you can (hopefully??) see - dirt is a common.. problem!

To me, both black & white (gloss or flat) show dirt - my guess is that's because our eyes 'know' that white & black are specific hues. Just about any other color can fool our (my? ;-)) eye into 'missing' small amounts of dirt/dust. I've owned 2 black bikes - IIRC, '75' - XS 650 & '68' - CB450K0 - & 1 white - the '68' - CB77 Superhawk, above - & that 'dirt shows' observation is from a little experience. It still shows on the ivory/brown.. but it isn't as 'f-ugly'.

IM ever so HO..

This would be a pain to keep clean

It can't decide if it wants to be a Beemer or a Tiger.
