Holy bazorka, that was a long weekend in the saddle.

Left B'more friday at 3pm to go to Hickory, NC, to check on my mom. Tried to get over to I-81 to avoid southbound Washington madness. 7 hours, a half-dozen traffic jams and three thunderstorms later, I called it quits an hour north of Roanoke. Got a hotel room. Finished the ride Saturday morning. Stayed the day, rode back on the eastern route (I-40E - 29N - 360E - 301N - I97N) today.

Can I just say that Fort AP Hill, when clear of traffic at dusk, will turn you into a grinning throttle-fiend? I will neither confirm nor deny that my membership in the 100mph club has been renewed. I blame the music I was listening to at the time;

Glad you're back and Okay. Good time with Mom? Ran out of time, no flyers for Chilli Night I'll jump on it when I get back. Going camping and then hardware show.

Gen, sorry I couldn't talk Friday, Friday?... That rush didn't let up till yesterday morning. I needed that!

Mick no worries. It was a spur of the moment thing, going back to the office after a very short visit to UMMC. Glad to see you busy!

Mostly loaded, I've got a short grocer's list to take care of, nothing but Honeydews on it . Hope to be heading out latest 1200. Need to make two stops. Winchester, VA at Dinosaurland for a couple crushed pennies, for a buddy in OH. The second, a friend is a professor at EMU, want to have a quick visit before heading to Kev's. He is local, could easily talk him into making a beer run for us....

I am out at 1300 as well..

JUst have a few last minute things to do...
1) Assemble motorcycle from random parts in basement.
2) Oil Change
3) Adjust valves
4) wheel bearings
5) new rear tire
6) wire new headlight circuit
7) decide what to take
8) look aimlessly around the house for items decided upon.
9) pack
I may actually be able to leave before 1.
