Dude,

Hack your GS. Buy a MTB, and let's practice our dirt skills with those (what could possibly go wrong?)

I've got 2 bicycle racks, one 1-1/4" hitch mount and one that is a found treasure, for cars. Picked them up between pickup trucks. If either will work for your Fit you can have. I'd be into some car-camping.
Excuse me...
HEY monkeyspanker, IF YOU ARE LURKING... SPEAK UP!
I know another local inmate that camps and bicycles often . Could make an over-nighter somewhere. I enjoy sitting by, tending a fire and getting some reading done away from a TV.

I bought a Fit because I can stick bicycles inside it. If I get a bike rack, it'll be a roof one. I've seen people park around here. Mostly using braille.

This plan of bike camping might have to happen. I've got a good light-trail bike. I don't have a hardcore MTB.

When I used them, it was purely for transport. Once wherever it would get tossed into the vehicle.
The decorative bike carrier never was my thing.

Bike Rack?

I've got this lying around. Any of you can use it, it's yours for the asking.

Good shape/attaches to roof rack.

Maybe something like this.

I've got one of those rails taking up space for that same (never worked on) project.

Back in my bike racing days, there were two fellas that came to the races with these moto/bicycle setups on BMW's.

Seemed to work out okay.

Jack I must have watched that very vid 1/2 dozen times before you posted it. Sweet.

That's what I want; A Desert Sled. Bare bones and badass.

It would fill a (perceived) need that no dirt bike could for me.

I might even get a Steve McQueen haircut.

Haven't seen that one but have watched this, worth the (just under 14 minute) time.
