Looks to be in great condition.
That's a real score if you just picked it up!

Thank you gentlemen,
I picked it up a year ago and spent some time on it. Nothing major: - Shock bearings and bushings - Fork seals and oil - Replaced broken shifter spring - New fenders - New seat cover The bike actually has low hours and starts on the 1st or 2nd kick. I took it into the woods a few weeks ago to keep its spirit intact (not a show piece, just a well preserved dirt bike) and I figured I'd just ride around gently. She wouldn't stand for it and the next thing I know I was rolling on the power and flying off rock jumps etc. The thing is, the bike handles extremely well and the power is ridiculous. I look at how simplistic all of the decisions are compared to modern bikes and I have to say, modern bikes take the long way around the technology block for modest gains. You can see why guys won on the old Husqvarnas. It was real education riding this bike that hard and one of the best experiences I've ever had on a motorcycle. It was the best! Thanks for letting me share with the class. Peace and enjoy the holidays

That's beautiful! Reminds me a lot of my 198? xc250. Thing was a beast, and would not die!
Here's a pic of a pic, after the new owner fancied it up.

I just bought one of these today. Its surprisingly clean and smokes a LOT but runs and runs FAST! This is my first thumper (I've had a sportster for a couple years now), and I am blown away by the power of this bike. I want to get her running like she should be but first things first i need to put fresh gas in it. Does anyone know what type of 2 stroke oil and what mix is best for this beast? The previous owner said yamaha oil mixed at 32:1 but he barely rode this bike and knew very little about it. Also I wanna change the motor/tranny (the same stuff has been in there for years of mostly sitting, he didn't even know what it was. The speedometer is not attached, but I have it and the cable, haven't tried to hook it up yet. I paid 1400. Was this a good buy?

If the bike is in good shape it was a decent deal. If you have to replace tires, rebuild shocks, maybe not so much. check the inside of the tank for rust- the ethanol in gas absorbs water that will rust tanks that sit a lot. Sorry I can't give you more info. Other old Husky riders will give you oil info.
Congrats! |

Had on back in the day.
First race was against Frank Gallow, Phil Andrews, R. Brown Warner, (one of the Lojack boys), Tom Penton and Al Chuppa. Only time I ever beat anyone to the first turm in a hare scramble. They all passed me in the trees, but what memories. Sold it to Mark Hyde when I moved to NY state. LOL
