This won't be the first time that TWO went through big changes. For those of you old not enough to remember, when Britt and GT took over from Frank, TWO went through some pretty big changes. IMO, it got better in some ways and worse in others. I suspect this will be the same. No doubt there will be some upgrades to the facilities but the character won't be the same. Eventually it will develope it's own character. I plan on being there as much as possible to see how it comes out as well as to support the new owner.

As for the new name, I don't really care, it will always be TWO to me.

I just hope the food is good. I think that's what differentiated TWO from other motorcycle hang outs. I predict that if the food is good, it will be a success, if it's bad, it will be a failure. Motorcyclists ride to eat, eat to ride. If you don't believe me, stop in Tellico Grain Company on a Saturday. Neither TWO or the Grain Co. are cheap either. Most folks don't mind paying a little extra for quality.

The place was so familiar, and in such a detailed way, that there's going to be some odd moments where my eye expects to see that little Z50 by the door, or go to get more tea and something isn't where you expect it.

It'll still be great, I think, all the same. The property has such a relaxed feel about it that I can't imagine it not being successful.

You can't relive the past and I don't think people want to. That said it'd be nice to see some of the old faces around & get to say hello again. I didn't make it up there in the final days and have the opportunity to hang out.

Cheers,
Jeff

Personally, I think it got better all the way around when Frank rode off, especially from Britt's imput. The things she did to change the place were just right.

Does anyone remember the years approx. each of the previous owners ran it?
I was up there a LOT in 98, 99 and 2000.

I"m ok with good food, but I want food quicker than the old TWO. Loved the food but I don't get much time to ride these days and waiting an hour or so for food just didn't cut it for me. save the fancy food for dinner, just make mine semi quick and i'm good to go.

having some renovations to the place will be good as well. I don't need a hilton but somewhere clean, bright and well kept is all I need for a good night sleep. I guess my tent will suffice in some cases. :)

but either way it'll be nice to have another place to spend some time and money.

Nice article about Bill Johnston and the campground in the April issue of the AMA's American Motorcyclist magazine. Sounds like he's going to be good for the area.

Don't know if this link will work for non-AMA members but I'll post it anyway -

I'll be in the area the first week of April and will look forward to seeing how the re-do is progressing.

Photos maybe -- it depends on whether we stop to look around.

My better half and I will be caging it through there the first week of May (Athens to Chattanooga the scenic way). Someone want to shoot me the address so I can take a look? Might be able to come by there, when they are open, on two wheels.....

It is.

Frank's old place, High Valley, is on 180.

It's just before the intersection of 180 and 60. It's on 60. Mark, go back to bed.
