Gary, we will miss you. Been retired almost a year now and I need a vacation.

I can relate to the need for a vacation.
Is someone doing thank you notes for the vendors? Fite with a tie? Someone missed a Kodak moment. I missed my Kodak moment with him when he was running the grill at school one night. The fire alarm went off and the kids were thrilled to have the Anchorage Fire Department show up for the open house. |

I'm late too......
I have no excuse......Just not getting things done.
So here goes. I really want to thank all the Counter Steering Committee members and Gruvers and everyone who jumped in to help pull the wagon that is D2D. Special thanks to Anne and Kevin Huddy who spent their D2D in the Downtown Hotel Conference Room taking care of all the ticket sales, banquet tickets, poker run registration, auction items etc. You two are my D2D heros. Every year as the crowd grows, more and more faces from the crowd step forward to help pull the whole thing off. If nobody said Thank Yow during the event. please accept my THANKS....Late as they may be. The Thank You letters from Fite and poster size D2D photo will be in the mail shortly.....I promise (right Fite). It's probably fair to say Thank You to everyone who attend D2D 2012 also. The friendship, and cooperation from attendees is amazing. Where else could you get a banquet group who just paid big money for a buffet dinner to bus their own table. Only at D2D. Not only bus the tables but carry them across the street for storage! Ask everyone to help recycle bottles and cans, no problem at D2D. I have had comments from Dawson Locals that D2D has changed their ideas of "Bikers". ADV riders are a special group. The ladies group that ran the bar were more than impressed with the kindness of attendees. Not only with their tips but with a friendly spirit. And Finally.....A very big Thank You and an apology to Dawson Dick. I know that it takes a great deal of his time, not to mention the chits he calls in each year to pave the way for OUR event. Thanks Dick. And the apology.....As the Banquet MC I didn't get Dick to the mic to welcome everyone to Dawson which he does every year. Time got crunched and the steaks were ready, sorry Dick. So until next year, Ride Safe. See ya all in Dawson 2013 Dennis

Bump.... just received this from Kevin Nixon of Twisted Throttle.... our contact person for D2D. He is the main man for swag distribution.
I am trying to hook him up with Hacky and the other two US riders heading to SouthAm next month. Please read and note that if we want to be considered for next year's D2D we need to show Twisted Throttle that their contributions are appreciated. Perhaps an e-mail to Twisted Throttle expressing your thanks would a good start. Let's let Kevin's boss know we would love to have them continue their support. I will post up TThrottle's address. http://www.twistedthrottle.com/?gclid=CLi7lfqAnbMCFY6DQgodbBYAFA Thank's Fite From Kevin: Hi Fite. I'd be happy to help out. Thanks for pointing Chad my way. I'm sorry this year our support was a little lax. Next year I'd like to try to do a shirt again. The boss is kind of on my back to see some return on the money we spend on rallies. If you have any creative ways to at least get me email addresses from all of the attendees that will help me out a bit. Stay in touch.

I sent Kevin a "thank you," testimonial and pictures some time ago. I couldn't see mounting the D2S lights on my Alaska ride, so they are on my R1150R in East Dakota. Outside thermometer says +58F, I think I'll go for a ride.

I also sent TT a thank you note right after D2D.
Gary, we are having a real cold spell here; only supposed to hit 52 degrees. Don't know if I can endure these conditions. Be careful not to get a speck of dirt on your pristine 1150R with the new, free Denali Lights.....

I suggest putting up a large circus tent somewhere near town and charging $50 a head to get in. You'll make a mint.
