The farthest gas Day One is 111 miles on the hard/easy way from Ridgecrest to Barstow and Day Two 92 miles
on the hard/easy way from Barstow to Ludlow.

Thanks isaac. After I posted this I opened my emails and read the rider instructions from Dist 37. I am right on the edge now with my stock tank for 111 before I hit the reserve button..... descissions, descissions.

What bike are you riding? I saw in your sig line F800, WR, and a DR.

Yes, what 1224R said, get 1 or 2 MSR metal fuel bottles, one liter each. For a few bucks, replace the child proof cap with a regular one (at REI).

I'm taking the WR250R on this ride.

Last night I strapped my two backpacking fuel bottles to my rear rack. With 2 liters of fuel in bottles that should give me roughly 20 miles, after my reserve. No problem. Bigger tank will come over the winter.

I just got more up-to-date info last night at our dual sport meeting. This will go on the day-of-event Rider Instructions.

The longest distances between gas will no longer be 111 miles. Day One from Ridgecrest to Barstow will now be 102 miles (easy way) and 103 miles (hard way).

However, the last part of this ride, before you get to Barstow, has a long sand wash, if memory serves me correctly. You might use more gas than normal. Plan accordingly.

I haven't seen the roll chart for Day Two yet. I was told the longest distance for gas was 92 miles for Day Two. We'll see if that still holds correct after I finally see it.

I had a five gallon tank and carried an additional 8 gallons with me last year in case anyone ran out on the trail. I never gave any out. I had 8 extra tubes as well and never found a stranded rider that needed one of those. I did find a few thristy gents at the finish in Barstow that took a few cold beers I was carrying though. I had an ice chest full of water, gatorade, and barley pops as well as all of my gear and clothing. You can carry alot with careful planning.

No, the inflatable friend is dating some auto pilot that was on that old movie "Airplane"

I was going to help with logistics with one on my big rigs, but it didn't pan out his year. I'll be in JV that weekend with my club.

You have fun and watch out for the "other" guy.
