Very excited.

Completed most of my prep and packing a few days ago, with the nice addition of a new Mojavi bag. I can throw on a small 20L dry sack for my overnight stuff on the ride to and from, and am confident I could ride this unsupported if I wanted!

Managed to pack a spare clutch cable under my seat, zip tied to the frame. I was going to run it parallel to the existing cable so it can easily be swapped over, but it was a tight squeeze to route two cables in the WR250R.

Threw in a road flare, just in case! Less then $2 at the local hardware store.
Ordered some fresh lithium ion batteries for the SPOT and head lamp, just in case.

Going to use 3M VHB adhesive strip to stick this on my helmet visor, so I can see the rollsheet if stuck at night time.

Ordered a box of Clif Shot Bloks also for easy fuel to eat between meals.

I'd have to agree. My just in case kit consists of some mushrooms and a nudie mag.

If anything happens, I can use that nudie mag as kindling with the flare!

all in fun Issac, you and John have a fun ride on your 250's. Did you decide to truck/trailer back? Couple of us are riding back across the desert Sunday morning instead of slabbing.

I'm riding there and back. My plan is to leave very early on Sunday morning, maybe as early as 5am? I would be game to ride with with you guys back, I just need to be back in LA by mid afternoon. How is that dirt route back looking? John is looking to ride dirt back as well.

You can always load your riding shorts up with ice from the hotel ice machines to help keep you cool. If that isn't cold enough, get some dry ice and put it in your camelback filled with acetone, remembering to put the bladder directly on your skin. That -40 Celsius cooler should last you a good 6 hours.

I'm riding without a helmet in cowboy boots and brandishing a side arm just cuz I can.
We northern Nevadans are hard like that

What you got like white tigers and dolphins down there?

Yes, we do. Takes a real man to ride a tiger.

Started loading up the bike tonight. Looks more like a burro than a Honda. I'm probably overdoing it - I think I could build a motorcycle out of cacti and yucca plants with all the tools and spare parts I'm bringing.

Hey AJxr,

Swing over to Chaparral Motorsports in San Bernardino if you want to see the largest motorcycle store in the U.S. Just don't get caught in the Wednesday traffic headed out of town. Best if you go over there Wednesday morning early.

It's right off the 215. I was going to tell you last week but didn't know how much time you'd be spending here in the area.

That's what I've done with my clip lights, but they were a little different design. The fact that they are underneath the visor protects them from being hit by anything. They don't get in your line of sight.

This looks like the new one I bought at Bass Pro Shop a few weeks ago for about $10. It's different from the ones at Walmart.
