Ok, ok ... point taken, last year was a breeze on the big GSA. This year ... HOLY FUCKING CRAP! Small bike desert racers win, big bike Starbucks posers loose. Will wait to post up RR when one starts but I think my GSA has had enough sand for a while.

Saw lots of freindly faces on the trail both days, ADV rocks. Super big props for my budyy Bill and his riding partner on sweep that totally bailed me out when I cut a side wall on my front tire and loaned me a tube.

Bike beat up, I'm sore as shit and came home in a big truck instead of riding. Jacuzzi and some JD helped lots when I got home.

Looking forward to next year already. Thanks D37 crew.

Well, so far there are a lot more stories here than there are on the District 37 message board. Keep them up, folks. I need good content for the District 37 Dual Sport newsletter.

Once you do a District 37 dual sport event, you are automatically added to the newsletter mailing list, so you'll start receiving it. You just might read about yourself in there!

Let's see some photos, please! More stories too, please.

Your welcome! I don't mind other people using my tire irons, it keeps the rust off! I run ultra heavy duty tubes, 8000 miles now and only one flat in Baja due to a nail. I think my XR650R is too much of a beast to wrestle for 500 miles of sand and rocks. You GS riders are just nucking futs in my opinion

Frank - one beat up and sore sweep rider - no way I could of rode for one more day.

Damn that was fun! I should have bet it all on black when I made it to Vegas - I got entry day of, picked up cancellations in the official hotels in both Palmdale and Barstow, didn't crash, no mechanicals, no flats.

990 sucked it up like a champ. Rode hard splits till lunch on Friday, then decided to save some for Saturday and took the greens. Skipped the 100 mile sand whoop breakfast on Saturday and slabbed to Baker, rode easy splits to Red Rock, got through the rock pile clean and then watched the real men do it on 50 year old trumpets.

Big thanks to D37, Paul Flanders and all my pick-up riding buddies.

Next year I'll have to do something about being such a lollygagging fat bastard so i can ride the whole thing.
