Sprocket lock washer alternative.

I find the lock washer on counter shaft a royal pita refit with normal traveling tools. Has anyone come up with an alternative?

Dedpending on the time you have and resources at your next stop maybe the nut can be drilled at an angle and if the CS sprocket has relief holes you can wire tie them together. Its an option and works well (Ive done it).
What are you using to loosen the nut?

That's a good idea. I use the axle nut spanner to loosen/tighten. Rest against the swinging arm and lever with the rear wheel. Last time I removed it the nut was finger tight
