My friend tells me to stick with the Fuji 488 or the liquid cooled Liberty twins. I'm also looking for something with the Edge or M10 suspension. My last sled had about 5 inches if suspension travel, I'm looking for a better ride this time around.

No good snow here in 2 years. Sleds for sale and I'm looking for a boat. Can't rely on the weather around here.

Day trip to the ears today. Snow was tracked up and wind-blown.

And I wonder why there's pine needles all over my sled, in my pack, in my boots, at the bottom of my pants pockets...

Weren't finding much decent snow on the south side of the highway, so we started heading north

Up to Buff Pass, then poked around to find the trail that heads south from the east side of the pass.

Don't do much exploring that far east, nor do we ever go towards the Grizzly Creek trailhead. There's some decent play areas out that way.

Family spent $600 on a 2004 skidoo legend 550f. I spent the holiday week tinkering with it and ripping it around my parents property. This sled was insanely picky with injection oil. I filled the tank with non synthetic amsoil, and it ran like shit, made no power, fouled plugs, died and would barely start. Drained that stuff and refilled with fully synthetic bombardier stuff, and the sled was flawless. This was the first I've ever driven, and I know for a sled this one isn't fast but was surprised at what it could do. Can't wait to get my own!

Yeah, I couldn't believe it. I'm the only semi mechanically inclined person in the family, and when it ran like shit at first I kinda figured it would. Still can't believe the difference synthetic oil would make, it runs like a banshee now.

Now I gotta get my own. What would you recommend for a tall, aggressive rider who will do 95% of riding on pre run/groomed trails. (vast in vt) just want reliability, good ergos and speed, in that order.

Somethign like that I'd steer towards the Yamahas ... Heavy pigs, so you very rarely see them in stock trim in the mountains, but for trails where weight is less of an issue and reliability/durability is, they're tough to beat.

Just got back from a weekend of riding the Nytro in the Snowies of Wyoming. Snow wasn't the best but the Yahamas were fast, never thought I'd like the 4stroke, but then again I didn't have to dig it out and I wasn't riding it in really deep powder either.

I used to own a Polaris 700cc and that is regarded as a reliable sled as well, but if I were living back east (where I grew up riding 70s Ski Doos) I'd probably buy a Yamaha RX1 since they're cheap (around here at least) and you won't have to worry about the engine blowing up, just perform the regular maintenance and it should be good to go for a long time. I have no clue what the ergos on the RX1 are like but I'm 6'1" pushing 250# and I found the Nytro all day comfortable.

Here's a few stills I captured with my LIC 720 goggles.

It's a little different situation in the Mideast. We've got water to spare.

some great sledding pictures. This year we have had more snow than I can remember, however in Quebec, many of the access trails are closed because of fallen trees due to heavy wet snow. In many areas it won't be cleared until spring, when heavy machinery can get in to clean it up.

Main trails are mostly open though.
