Barber Vintage Festival, Oct 12-14, B'Ham

The Festival will be held Friday thru Sunday October 12-14th..............see www.barbermotorsports.com.......the featured marque this year will be Triumph. Who's coming down for the event?? Last year old George had two new venues........a huge Ducati Display and the Ace Cafe. Gerry Wood will host another Vintage Bike Auction this year and they have expanded the swap meet area by a dozen new spots........over 250 spaces now. I assume we will again be entertained Sat & Sunday by the lunch-hour Airshow as in previous years, plus the popular Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club's Bike Show with some beautiful bikes of yesteryear. This events keeps getting larger every year. If you have never been to Barber's Park, October is a beautiful time of the year to come and see literally 1,000's of motorcycles parked on the grounds, not to mention the World-Class Museum with over 800 bikes on display. Some of the Museum employees get to drag out a few of the exotic antiques from the museum, fire em up, and putt-putt them around the perimeter road for everyone to see and hear up close. There are rumors of maybe some Demo Rides this year, nothing confirmed. You can take your own bike out on the track for a Parade Lap in front of the crowds if so inclined ($30 fee). I'll be in Swap Meet Space #H-30 again this year, come by and say "hello" or sit a spell under my canopy.

Anyone know the time for the Century Race. The schedule link on the website is just a circular loop that doesnt say anything.

I'll agree, but will add if you dig BIKES you need to go, every year Its almost like Mr. Barber sold every bike in the museum and the new owners are riding them around out there......and the crowd that shows up is just as interesting, if not more so!

Plus, usually the weather is awesome this time of year....

I'll be there all weekend. Wouldn't miss it.

Grew up 45 miles east of the track. Looking forward to riding Cheaha and hanging at Barber's.......

FWIW Dept........George Barber is expanding the Museum Complex, according to "good" sources.........building a "sister Museum" to house his car collection. Rumors a few years ago was that it would be located in the "bowl" between Turns 2 & 3 (I think those are the turn numbers??) and include an enclosed Skywalk over the track connecting the two museums. Time will tell...........
