I've heard the same thing. It is reported to add another 100,000 square feet of display space.

Thumb Yes , oh yes

We will be there for the third straight year.
If you love bikes new or old, Barber is a must see. Every bike you can name will be there somewhere.

We will be hanging with the DoTheTon crew on Ace Corner.

Tiny D and I are going to make it this year.

He's wanting to bring his KTM to play around on the MX track, but I tried to explain it's for the old bikes...he's still down with it though.

Any hotel suggestions close by? Last time we stayed at the place right next to the Cracker Barrel, but I'd imagine they're already sold out.

I'll have a Loctite T Shirt on. If you see me hit me up for some Loctite Swag.

Dude, you are way late for reserving a motel. BUT try the Comfort Suites in Pell City, (205) 338-5570.
We stayed there last year, nice place, about 20 minutes to the track.

Also try the Holiday Inn Express in Pell City. That's where we're staying (and have for the past five years).

If the Pell City hotels are full, look east to Oxford, AL. There are a bunch of nice hotels there and you're still only about 45 minutes from the track. There are also lots of good moto roads in the area (my home town, btw).

Just made reservations and got tickets. A couple of us will be riding in on Friday afternoon and hanging out all weekend. Got Ace Cafe passes and all...

If anyone finds a tank for a 1971 Kawasaki KV75 Parnelli Jones Edition (or any early 70's year) in the swap meet, send me a PM!!! My restoration project is on hold waiting for a fuel supply!!!

If there are no major issues at work I am going to head down (850 miles) on Thursday. I have never been to the event, museum or races, or below Tenn. as far as that goes.

I am looking for the top 5 must do things for a Barber first timer, and will take any other road, lodging suggestions etc.

Thanks and hope to meet some ADVers there!

Top Five..........

Just my opinion.........for a BaBa Noob:

1. Museum......it will be crowded, but with 5 floors and over 800 bikes to see, take yer time!! (oh, and my brother's picture is hanging up directly behind the ticket counter in the museum.....he & his bunch are overlooking the Grand Canyon displaying the Barber flag!!!)
2. the Racing........all weekend long.......sidecars, bikes 100 yrs young, MX (the MX track is so-so), Trials (never seen it myself), and Hare Scramble-type racing.
3. VJMC Bike Show.......plus maybe the Ace Cafe?
4. The Swap Meet and Vintage Bike Auction...........
5. Taking in the beauty of Barber's Complex.......from the beautiful lawns/shrubbery, to the giant pieces of artwork scuptures, to all of the 1,000's of Vintage Bikes RIDDEN to this event every year parked all along the Perimeter Road.

+1 on Mark's list...and things to see near Barber...

5.a) Courtyard 25 is good place to visit. Good road + food + drinks + music.

5.b) Motus bike night - there will probably be a group ride from Barber to downtown Bham.

Barber for a n00b... This place is magical, take your time. It is like Disney Land of the moto world. find a place in the grass overlooking the the track and enjoy.
