AMA Had to side with Kawasaki on this one. It'll tighten up the points race. Not only that, but have you seen the videos of RV whining about "having to" race dirtbikes & how much life sucks being a Pro Dirtbike Racer? The guy is just looking for reasons to leave.

Even the GOAT agrees.

From Twitter:
Ricky Carmichael ‏@RickyCarmichael
@DavidVuillemin another great example of how the AMAs rule book is grey and a joke

Chad Reed Two Two too.
Chad Reed ‏@CRtwotwo
@RickyCarmichael @davidvuillemin passing on yellow is fine.. Red light and Red Cross flag? Not so much. But ya what RC said

I know the GOAT's views will mean nothing to Flug. But for the rest?

I think this is the correct answer. Politics to tighten up the points race so it will be more exciting vs. actual rule enforcement. On the last part of that though is RV to dirt bikes what Casey Stoner was to street bikes? lmao.

The AMA makes decisions like NASCAR does.

All we need to wait for now is for RV to confirm he is NOT retiring, and NOT switching to 4 wheel racing.

Is there a single file rule?

If not, those pics prove nothing.....and a pass isn't scored anywhere on the track until it actually happens.

If there's no single file rule then it's a judgement call for the officials to decide as to whether who was braking or accelerating etc.

You have not yet posted a pic of a pass.....where was #7 when the pass actually occurred? Was it not in front of a Yellow flag?

That must be the grey area RC is is referring to.

According to the rule book RV's finishing position should have been penalized and not his restart position after the red flag.

Appendix A
Offenses, Penalties, Protests, and Appeals

A1
d. The Race Director may pronounce the following penalties.
Warning
Fine
Lap deductions or finishing position deductions
Time and/or point penalties
Disqualification
Suspension
Probation not exceeding 12 months from the date of
offence

A2 General Offenses and Penalties
c.
15. Failing to immediately respect and comply with
operational or warning flags/lights or other signals from
racing officials.

I don't see a lose 3 positions penalty in there.

Track was excellent for an indoor track

The racing was good. Even with the questions as to did 'Poto get away with rules bent in his favor he was on a tear, running the spreadsheet in his head told him he needed those extra 3 points even if it meant getting close to James. Which he did at least 3 times, maybe more.

That is not to say I like the way the rules were enforced, don't know about NASCAR, never watched that much anyway, but I used to like basketball, don't watch it anymore because of the way the rules are ignored for certain teams and players.

Villipoto the Casey Stoner of motocross? Hardly, he is talented but a level of talent below Stoner

RV could have beat JS that night without the questionable tactics. He looked better than everyone else out there. I guess it gives us all something to talk about until Daytona though.

Speaking of which. Any thoughts or opinions on KROC competing in the 450 class on a 350 at Daytona next week?

Here is another shot for good measure.

Pass is made before clearing the rider that the red cross flag was out for.

And that, to me, is the absolute deciding factor. Pass was made BEFORE clearing the downed rider. Penalty.

The downed rider is back up and on his bike! Pretty soon SX is gonna be like T-ball. Tell them they all won so the riders all feel good and their fans do to.
