Last year the pits where open but not advertised. My daughter had friends that went in and said if was great because no one was there. we didn't go because we didn't know they where open.

It just seems dumb to have an outdoor race at this time of the year at night. I know it's Daytona, and it should be warmer, but still dumb.

Some might consider it dumb to launch a motorcycle over a 60 foot triple, too.

They have been doing this for a long time and it is almost always exciting. Daytona and 60 foot triples, I mean.

it's become part of the whole SX annual storyline. personally everyone always looks cold and usually cold and wet. fun! all I know is it starts at 7:30 pm and I won't be dozing at 1am while the gate drops on the 450 main. remember was it 2 years ago JLaw led most of it and then Reed took over and JLaw held on for 2nd was it? definitely looks like a better race to watch on TV as opposed to being there. if you think about it we're talking March at night, it can't be warm anywhere in the US at night in March. Outdoors. freak that I'm really hooked on the Irish coffee's now I know what I'll be sipping tomorrow night. go Milsapps!

I wonder if Weinert will be there he's set up shop now in North Carolina with his training facility but he's got plenty of competition down south - Facebook seems to have all kinds of south east training activity on several tracks.

check this video out. this kid Renzland is local here but dad's got $$$ and obviously isn't afraid to spend it. I believe he will turn pro this year.

and this place isn't even open to the public!! this is the most incredible track I've ever seen.

One is dumb and adds nothing to the whole enchilada except maybe ensuring a warmer, bigger TV audience than live.
The other one is exciting and is the SX signature move.
