this will sound naive but...how top notch is the top notch stuff. meaning, I know a lot of these other teams can afford the $10,000 front ends and every bolt on after market item available, even some of the "private" guys. I saw Tedder's truck at Unadilla and it was almost if not as big as the Geico and Muscle Milk rigs. I'm sure they can afford whatever is available. So is there still that big of a gap (in the 450's) for guys who for the most part money is no object and the very top teams? Or at the end of the day is Weimer going to finish where Weimer is going to finish on RV's bike or on a 25th place riders bike.

I think even the stock KTM pipes have those. I think it's like a resonating chamber.

That's definitely not stock. Akrapovic titanium header would probably run one of us over a grand, assuming it's not custom made specifically for them.

I think they were originally designed to knock a dB or two off.

Looks cool, though.

Ignitions, suspension, and transmissions are quite a bit different on the works bikes, the rest can be made pretty close.

More important is the crew that knows what to do with all that stuff, and the privateer doesn't have that crew.

Weimer's fitness and equipment is as good as it gets, his head just needs some different maps loaded in it, or Baggett or Wilson will have his job next year.
