Issues with the F800

I think I've finally decided on getting a 2013 F800 GS. What are some of the commonly reported issues with this particular model?

none addicting....

cost money...

used by batmans enemies...

zero aftermarket parts...

no following of fellow riders...

fellow KLR riders love peeing on them....

ugh... the list goes on and on...

you'd be crazy to own one.... hell just look at this smile? truly a very unhappy owner

honest anwer.... i've scraped pegs on the TAT, drove through wind and rain in canada, took her up to the alps and let her breath thin air, hightailed it across the autobahn, hit every pot hole in ukraine, washboarded in across mongolia, drowned it in russia, TAT'd in across the usa, single tracked in TN and do wheelies daily.... all that in 23,000 miles and i've had to replace the rear wheel bearings.... hows that for proving these things can take the abuse...?

There is no issue the warrenty won't cure in the next 3 years.

It's a great bike. Don't worry so much about it. The cases that are reported here are not THAT common. I mean look how many bikes BMW sold and how many actual persons have problems with them. It's actually bad luck. Ride the damn thing and that's it. every bike model has problems, take the one that puts a smile on your face and if you have enough money to buy a new one the warrenty will do the rest.

On-Board Computer

What options should I get and which ones should I avoid. The one I'm looking at has heated grips, the on-board computer, saddle bag mounts, but I don't intend to get the BMW saddle bags. What exactly does the on-board computer do and is that good or bad?

get every option but the alarm and the akra exhaust (abs, esa, heated grips, bord computer..) ... the saddle back mounts aren't necessary :o) and I think the OEM hand protectors aren't that good if you want protection against weather. get some touratech or barkbuster on them.

don't buy saddle bag mounts until you know what kind of saddle bags you want. BMW mounts might not work with other bags.
