It's actually $2,79.

And yeah, the 500 is more expensive!

CB500F vs NC700S is about $150 (500 is cheaper).

Really don't understand the pricing..

That's because you have some absurd perception that the NC700 is worth more.

Oh well, you're probably correct.. but at the same price point, I'd rather
have the 700 torque..

[QUOTE=Anteraan;20754304]I was there too. I liked the look of them in person, but can't for the life of me figure out why Honda has decided to go non-standard in their switchgear. Is this how scooters are set up or something? It started with the NC700X, and now it extends to the 700 series and 500 series. By "it" I'm referring to moving the horn to where the turn signals are typically found, and vice versa. I found it odd, since the other Hondas there (CBR250, Fury, CB1100, Wing and variants) all had the standard setup.

The reason is to accommodate the shift switches on the DCT models. Ideal placement of the shift switches required some adjustment to the switch arrangements and I guess Honda have started to go in this direction for future models since DCT will be adapted to so many of them.

I would buy the 500x, but I'm thinking the price difference will be significant.

same here !!! so sick of all black bikes i could puke. so what else do we get,the total opposite of black-white. c'mon honda you can't kick off a new model with 3 colors to see what sells best and decide from there ! really like this model but it does'nt stand a chance in the colors their offering.

I like the new placement. With turn signals that are not self canceling, turn signal button gets used a lot and it is right there. No more blowing the horn when canceling the turn signals. I'm not that good at blowing the horn in situations where I am busy braking or making defensive riding decisions.

I went to the Chicago show, looked at everything from everybody, and if I were in the market for a new bike it would be the CB500X hands down (especially if the price is about the same as the F). Loved the looks, the ergos were perfect for me (5'9" or so with relatively long arms and legs), and I think 500cc is the sweet spot for displacement.

Unfortunately I'm not in the market. But my wife fell in love with the F, so we may be haunting the Honda dealer yet...

I wanted the 500x,but bought the nC700x.The 2 reason were..
1..I didn't want to wait till whenever ( the dealers didn't know when they were comming ) and I'm heading to Deadhorse in June.
2..At 6'1" and 275# I fit the 700 way better.
Plus the 700 might get better mpg's than the 500!!.

Yup. The 700s are tuned primarily for economy, IIRC.
