Bike was making a racket
Then I remembered, earplugs!
I'd run out of the foam type in June, haven't been riding much these past couple months, and was beginning to convince myself the crank was shot, pistons holed, and muffler bearings spun!! Funny how we get accustomed to hearing something a particular way.

I had the same thing happen to me the other day. It was awful! I'm getting ready to head out, must remember the plugs

Every time I ride my R90 without ear plugs I hear disastrous noises coming from the valve train and I start computing the costs of the repairs.
![]() Funny how 50 cents worth of green foam can cure that.

That set up shows 10 speakers ... 4 tweets , 4 4" Mids & 2 4x6 .
I am in the process of installing another 10 speakers in some Wixom Bags. 4 6x9 4 5x7 and 2 6.5" subs I should have this all done in the next fews weeks. Db I have no idea ... but with the 10 on now ... If I put it to 1/2 volume its too loud whilst I ride.

The negative side to wearing 'plugs is that you might not hear a problem before it's too late. Do take them out from time to time so you can listen to the motor.
They are handy when sleeping in a noisy campgrund or sharing a room with a snorer. |

I always listen to the motor when I'm gearing up to leave. I've found though that on the road, with earplugs in it amplifies the other senses. You can -feel- when the bike is performing, or handling differently than is normal. At least, in my experience.
