Let us know what you find down there for roads. I should be about a week behind you headed down from Sierra Vista AZ.

We rode down to the overlook just below Kirare and encountered the construction zone. The conditions were quite muddy and the construction seemed to be at a lull. We could have gone through downhill but were concerned about the trip back up. This was confirmed by Beemer67, an intrepid soul I have traveled with in years past, who we ran into in Guachochi the next day. He related that he had spent 2 days stuck in Batopilas Canyon trying to get back up to Samachique via the detour route one day then the Yoquivo route the next. He ended up paying a guy $100 to haul his bike up the canyon.
Awesome country.

What's with all the mud? I thought t was warm and dry down there this time of year.

Big rain last week. They needed it.

The road has dried out, but it was not passable today due to the construction work just below Kirare.
