New guy
Hello one and all. I recently found this site, and in the never ending quest to learn more about my motorcycle, decided to join. My bike is a 95 R 1,100 GS that I have owned for several years now, and I love it! I cant tell you how many times people have told me my bike is ugly. But I am the one laughing to the beach with my wife and a full load with a cooler! Anyways I just wanted to introduce my self to everyone. I would post pictures of my bike but apparently I cant do that for some reason. Any how, I'm glad to be one of the "inmates" now!

Welcome
This is a great resource. The amount of information and experience here is truly awesome. These folks have saved my bacon on more than one mechanical project. Even though I have pushed the "there is no stupid question" issue a bit hard, the replies have generally been super helpful. Have fun and be sure to check out Miriam Orlandi's travels. She stopped by our place a while ago and you could not meet a nicer lady anywhere.

Consider this site a support group for ugly blokes with ugly bikes, and lots of problems.

Not to worry. I have over 100 posts but no GSA. spring of 2013 it will be rectified as they leftovers go on sale. Yep! I'm cheap. This is a very good resource bear in though that sometimes a thick skin is required. Let ur common sense be your guide.

I love it and I have not had to many issues with it thus far, except right now ironically, But that's a subject for another post. Otherwise I am looking forward to absorbing all the wisdom this site has to offer!

I confess, when I started to consider buying a BMW ten years ago I thought the GS's were ugly also.
A guy in town let me ride his 1100RS. I was looking for one of those when I spotted an 1100S in town. The underseat exhaust sucked me in and I soon located a good deal on a used '01. Bought a used set of cases like those on CR's bike. That opened up the world of sport-touring. Then after a few good years I grew tired of the riding position and and a bike that wanted to go 85 all the time. By then I had aquired other DS bikes and had seen enough other GS's to appreciate what they could do off highway. Long story short, I'm hooked. Jim

BMW's are ugly as fuck.... Pretty only to their owners. Kinda like that fat freckled red head. BEAUTIFUL to mom, dad and grandma.
Of course, I LOVE all motorcycles, scooters and basically anything with 2 wheels and a motor. And yes, I own an ugly ass BMW as well! Welcome to the forum.... Tell us about what oil and tires you use and why, if you like size 46 boots and how you like hippo hands... Here is a gratuitous self promotion fuck the world (or the ex-wife) pic:

Guess there aren't any questions as to why she is an "Ex" wife ![]() Welcome aboard, NWCR. Your bike is ugly. I like ugly bikes, though. Most of the ones I've had are ugly by the standards of the masses, but I have LOVED EVERY DAMN ONE OF THEM!! Oh, and check the link RFBARKER included. You might have missed some sarcasm in his post. P.S.: not only is your bike ugly, but the side cases make it's ass look fat
