Does the KLIM Traverse come with Armor in it? I am trying to decide what KLIM stuff to buy. Badlands, Laditude or Traverse..

The Traverse does not come with armor, you have to buy it separate.I purchased the D30 armor with it.

I'm pretty sure the other Klim products do come with armor.

I saw you sold it.I was going to pm you and ask what was going on ?
Anyway,I feel it is always good to try something if it keeps nagging at you,and then you can move on with a clear mind in the direction you want to go and not always be wondering.
Thats why I have been through so many bikes.

The KTM was a fun bike but would have likely gotten me into trouble.

-that and I missed my old tractor.

Good for you! Which KTM did you have?
Regards getting in trouble ... I sold my former KTM Duke ll for the same reason. I got two tickets in a year on it ... one for doing a Stoppie!

Lots of my riding buddies ride KTM's and have done for nearly a decade now. They've spent a lot on repairs (and farkles too of course) and their maintenance routine is certainly more frequent and more complicated than that of a KLR.
All the best with the KLR.

Thanks!

I loved riding the 950 but you hit some key points with your post. The bike is very easy to ride and can be very fast in all conditions.

The cost of upkeep too is somewhat a factor. I knew this going into the bike, but it didn't really hit me until the wallet had to actually come out. -$10+/qt of oil, $100/tire, farkles are $$$, premium fuel is a REQUIREMENT and the list goes on.

The big adventure bikes are fantastic in their own regards, but like the OP, the KISS factor just seems to better suit me. I had a well prepped KLR and really miss it.

IRON BUTT RALLY 2013 DAY 1

The last couple of days have been exciting.

The 2013 Iron Butt Rally kicked off Monday morning at 10:00 Am from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The theme this year is Planes, Trains and Automobiles so I suspected the riders would be funneling through the Detroit area.

BOBBY and DIANNE FOX with their BMW 1200 RT's @ Henry Ford Museum parking lot.

Monday morning I had Jury duty in Downtown Detroit and when leaving around 3:00 and heading west on Michigan Avenue I began passing Unmistakable rally riders with fuel cells heading East in the pouring rain into Downtown Detroit for Bonus locations.

So I pulled up the spot tracker from the IBA website and saw lots of riders at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn so I stopped over there and met and photographed some riders.

I met more riders and took pictures today but don't have time to post them right now.

Tomorrow the riders have to be back in Pittsburgh for the end of leg 1 & the start of leg 2 the next day.

I am planning on jumping on the KLR in the morning and riding over to Pittsburgh and check out Rally Central and see the riders roll in.

I have to be back tommorow night though so I can go to work Friday so it will be a long day.

I will post up some more pics later.

You guys are interested ain't you ???? Lol.
