Ya I did this time. I rode it about 10 years ago when I was with a bunch of guys. I was younger and braver then.

Visiting Day

daughter#1 was shipped off to boarding school when she turned 10 three years ago, character building and all that.

Visiting day is hectic, 300km one way drive, see her for an hour and turn around. Once a term, we go in a day before official visiting day and get permission to take her out of school, we stay at a hotel right by the school gates. Her school is located in a rural area, middle of nowhere with farm land and hills all around.
This time, went with her MTB and we rode around the farm trails right after a quick lunch and rest.

Back to School

Dropped her off at the hotel and did some exploring around

Visiting Day- 2

Next morning, went out with herself on the major road.

0500. So much fog/dew/whatever we could barely see.

Bike, jersey, glasses, everything was wet. I had to take off my riding glasses.

Nice rolling hills.

2 hour ride then head back to the hotel

Muddiest SUV award again, time to head back

You could see the other parents in their shiny clean vehicles giving our truck a wide berth.

Work and Ride

So last week and early this week, I was doing site visits mostly

What? No early morning riding?

Why not. I carried the bike along last week, put in one early morning ride from the hotel base and came back to Port Harcourt from Eket on Saturday on the bike. Arranged for my stuff to be picked up and brought back.

Pic stop at 50km point. Imo River Bridge, boundary between Akwa Ibom state and Rivers State.

Stopped at 93km to avoid riding in peak traffic when we entered Port Harcourt and ended up walking 3 km, could not stand sitting down for 2hrs to do 10km, construction or some other crazy stuff was going on and traffic was at standstill, should have just ridden back to the office.

Did a couple laps around Fort McHenry the other day. Hopped off the bike long enough to snap a mobile phone pic.
