I had a little 'incident' at a gate out that way once, with Trev right behind me. Well, you've never seen a bloke go for a camera so fast. If he lived in the wild west he'd have been the best gun fighter in Dodge City. But unfortunatly for him I was quicker getting to my feet. There was no regard for my personal welfare
I was standing next to Trev when he took that photo of Kipo at the gate & I've never seen him move so fast, I can vouch that he's always lighting quick with the camera..

Your memory may be soured by excessive alcohol intake the previous evening Sol, sadly, I did not get the photo.

A gang of us were doing the PAR's and Kipo stopped to open a gate for everyone. He pushed the DRZ through and parked it on the other side. In some sort of crazy manouvre he lost control of the stability of the bike and he and it fell over. He looked straight at me (my reputation was starting to gather momentum at that stage) and I stared back in disbelief. My next reaction was to grab the camera out of my jacket pocket, but to Kipo's credit he dead lifted that bike to an upright position in .035 of a millisecond so as to avoid the lifetime of embarrassment I could have caused. The look of absolute panic on his face was gold!!! Alas, a missed opportunity.

I reckon that was the same Classic when Matt opened a gate for everyone, cheered them through, shut the gate again and then realised he'd left his bike back on the wrong side........now that was Classic!! Kipo awarded him a trophy for that one...

Well done James.... I've been reading about your BMW 800 purchase and this will be a great ride for you. I'll put your bookings up on the DBW site.

Just a point for you to ponder. Are you seriously going to ride all the way from Brisbane to the magnificent Flinders Ranges and back for just one day's riding??? If you arrive during the day on Friday, that's pizza night, ride Saturday, then BBQ Sat night and leave on Sunday.......

Not sure how you've worked out your dates with your mates, but maybe think about an extra night with us - we can seriously make it worth your while.....

Let me know if you want to talk about it.

Big ride ahead for you guys and lots of plans to be made....good luck with it all.

If anyone else looks like riding from Qld I'll put you in touch. I do know that a top ten finisher at Bathurst, Aust Touring car Championship driver and all round Ozzie racing car hero is seriously considering coming from northern NSW, and if that firms up and he rides down, I'll put you in touch.....seeing as you have some things in common...

PS, I hope your missus is enjoying the EPL more than I am at the moment....

There's a great track out to where Emu and Ozzie stayed a couple of weeks ago. Leaves the bitumen north of Parachilna, passes Beltana and come back out onto the tar south of Leigh Creek. It's a fast paced interesting ride with little 'bumps' along the way. Perfect for a 'Crush' of orange.

I've ridden that road on a Postie and it didn't seem that exciting then
