All is good In the High Desert today. A friend of mine stopped by my place late this afternoon. He had just finished up a 70 mile ride in the nearby foothills.

Hadnt rained a drop at my house but 15 miles south and 2000 ft higher my buddies had dust free perfect conditions. Probably one more day of chocolate cake,then rising temps and wind will dry it out till the next storm forecast for late next week.

Was very dry in the valley today... but the winds kept the dust out of the way. And the clear skys and cool temps made for great riding.

$22 for a burger and a pitcher at the end of the ride was the worst part of the day. Next time it's the party barn at Slash-JEFF ! Food is better... we got tater-tots on demand... service is faster... and it's FREE !

My son and his buddy rode the local hills, had wet dirt all day trails beginning about 20 minutes from the house They got some snow a little higher up but just a couple inches.

Got to see vid of a trail my son and I checked out last summer we named "Romaniacs". My son and I turned around after 3-4 miles when we rode it but they pushed on yesterday and found the outlet. It lived up to the name. My son suggests that old folks like me do the trail as a downhill ride due to the brutal steps here and there.

A couple vids of the easy trails. This is where my son learned to ride offroad.

The kid on the Honda having a bit less trouble than my son is one hell of a rider. He's a consistent top five overall finisher at District 37 Hare and Hounds.

yea, that trail will give u a workout! what u cant see int the video is that they are constantly climbing, there is no rest spots once started up
we found that trail back when i rode with the TT guys 4-5 yrs ago! always thought it was one of ur secret trails, used to be a banner right after the tree root/rock to direct you, now we need to continue it after it crests @ the road, cause that rode SUCKS to ride back down or up

Have you guys ridden "URF canyon" or "Royal flush" near Wagon Wheel? That is some Romaniacs stuff! I've done both on my big bike (not knowing what I was getting myself into) and they are ass-kickers, I'll be giving both trails a go this weekend on the Gasser 300 if anyone is up for the punishment!
