Well ...

Our colleagues have Oliepeil.nl decidedly hawk eye! The Dutch site has discovered, browsing the catalog Akrapovic 2013, which should be one of the guests surprise the next show Intermot 2012: new Yamaha FJR1300 2013 (or 1400)! The rear views of the big new Japanese GT unveiled a modified fairing - which bodes so a new front - rear frame loop reinforced windscreen and a generous cockpit redesigned. A little short for a new 2013 as we expected you say? If the technical basis of the recovery current Yamaha FJR 1300 2013 his successor does not arouse excitement, of course, we can already predict, as is the case in the first big news bike motorcycle 2013 detailed -station.com - an electronic package probably highly optimized. In addition to an equipment approval conforming to standard category - GPS, cruise control, trip computer, heated grips and saddles? - It seems logical that the new 2013 Yamaha FJR1300 hosts in turn assists the latest electronic fashion: traction control, electronically controlled suspension, different engine maps, coupled braking / ABS, or a significant change in the automatic transmission already known on the FJR 1300 AS and probably present on the future Honda Pan European 2013 ... Well, if nothing is confirmed yet, it seems more than likely that much of the equipment mentioned here are of course the new Yamaha FJR 1300 2013. But before we speak, expect to be living in the motorcycle and scooter Intermot 2012 in Cologne next week to see what will happen in the datasheet of this new Yamaha FJR1300 2013 ...
It's fun to speculate. ;-)

I may be wrong but somehow I think if Yamaha is going to add all these features/changes as discussed above, I am sure they would have given a new design to the already dated tail lamp cluster & rear-end. I would imagine a split tail light with bold LED more on the lines of the FZ1 or the S10 etc...

First impression....

First impression: I like it. The aesthetic changes are subtle. It still looks like an FJR. Traction control and cruise control are definite pluses.

I'm volunteering to test ride it.

Cypress, California, October 2, 2012 - Yamaha Motor Corp U.S. is very
excited to launch the new Supersport Touring 2013 FJR1300A.

The FJR 1300 has a long and decorated history within the motorsports
world, and the original model created a new category of "Supersport
Touring" motorcycles, with its silky smooth engine character, strong
torque throughout the entire rpm range, outstanding stability, agility
and riding comfort.

For 2013, the new FJR1300A will deliver a more exhilarating and
comfortable ride through a new design that is more modern/sharp and
technologically advanced. It now has features that improve on its
already great performance and touring capability.

The FJR1300A gets a complete electronics overhaul with Supersport
inspired features like Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T),
Traction Control (TCS) and D-Mode (Sport and Touring). All these
technologies work in unison with an all new Cruise Control system to
ensure an inspired ride.

The look of the FJR1300A has been completely modernized starting with
a more aggressive shape and design of the front and side cowls. The
windscreen has been changed and now goes up and down twice as fast and
retains the same position when the key is removed.

The cockpit of the FJR1300A is completely new. The instrument cluster
features three distinct easy to read panels. On the left is an analog
tachometer, the center is a digital speedometer and to the right is a
multi-dot digital display. The controls feature a multi-function
handlebar switch system for operating the windscreen, heated grips and
informational display, along with stand alone cruise control buttons.

The ability to carve up the road with confidence has long been a
cornerstone of the FJR. With new front and rear suspension settings on
the 2013 FJR1300A, it will be even easier, with or without a passenger
on board. Standard ABS and Yamaha's Unified Braking System also insure
the 2013 FJR1300A braking performance is equally confidence inspiring.

The 2013 FJR1300A will be available in Stone Grey with an MSRP of
$15,890 starting this October.

BOOM!!!

I signed up for one today. I have owned my '06 longer than any bike since I began riding. Just got back from the Gap and Cherahola on Sunday and the bike was superb, as usual. This new one got improvements right where it needed 'em. I would have loved to have that crossplane crank and its awesome sound but it's not really necessary. I like that new color, too.

You're there.

New cruise control adjusts speed via a single push to the switch or, for larger adjustments, by continuously pushing the switch. Application of the brakes, clutch or throttle automatically releases the cruise control function. There is also a “resume” function that returns the cruise control to the most recent setting.

And no they didn't upgrade the motor to 1400 either but the upgrades and changes are welcome IMO.

I like it.
