Is there room for one more? This looks like an epic ride.

I have distanzias for tires. Will those work?

I can get maybe 87 kms per tank. Is that enough?

And do I need yellow crocs?

I would probably get into the air box and dry that out. Then I'd just pull the spark plugs out and crank it over a few times? Sound about right? Doesn't sound too hard but those spark plugs can be tough to get to. I'll make sure I learn the procedure.

Ya, that was good advice, unless you had a KLR,,,,, or a jet ski,,,,, or you were Skibum. Then you could just ride through. Big KTMs, and one particular Husky were doomed. One of us should have left that water hoel with a damm Beaver pelt that day

Nice sticker Al - and holy crap, I didn't expect to see the 990 hoisted vertical like that. It kind of really shows you exactly why you might want 4 people on your team. Also, a good video to judge your tire selection by.

gettin the H20 out

Just going through the thread after being away for a while, thought id tell you how I got my hydro-locked 990 turning again.

So after pretending I was a submarine captin, my big Katoom took on a big drink. I hit the kill switch before she went under, but when I tried to turn her over nothing... I pulled the front plug out but Murphy had his way and I had a back cylinder (that is so nice to get at) full of water. Being 50 miles from anyware I thought I was pretty much fucked. A few good lads helped me hoist the front end up to drain off any water, but the big pig still wouldn't turn. So I put it on the center stand and put it in 4-5 gear and started turning the rear wheel back and forth. After about ten times it would go a little bit more, then...She turned. I tried the starter and she was rolling over and fired up. It spit water out the exhaust like an outboard, but it was running. I checked the oil and it was a nice Hue of egg nog. (being still under warranty said fuck it, I had to get out of here). The guy that followed me out said it steamed like a train for a while then gradually got better. After we got back to camp I ckecked the oil and it was clean. I must had got it hot enough to burn off the water, who knew. Then two weeks later, hit a deer and wrote the fucking bike off...Life sucks

Yep, that was me and Skibum with you I think. Kinda weird seeing plumes of steam like that from a bike.

That was me on the 950 that quit 50' into the puddle.
It wasn't until after that I found out about the "T-vent" mod

Yup. I'll be doing some maintenance on my 950 soon and will have it all apart. Did a quick search and didn't see a diagram. Anyone have one?
