Very weak connection to power on bike, we both had multiple warrantee replacements when the USB connection failed. Unit not up to vibration. Word of warning.

Knobbies? What knobbies? I was just planning on putting another couple thousand clicks on the Anakees and then just powering through everything on the RR...

Actually - I got a fresh pair of TKCs from DSP last fall that I will put on. Figured they were worth the investment given the RR in June and my Trans Taiga trip in August.

I'm actually thinking of signing up for the EOAR May 24-26 to break the knobbies in before the RR. The only issue is that I have to drag my sorry ass out of bed at 6 am to get to Calabogie for the Advanced Rider Training School on the Monday after the rally (it's my one track day a year). That means finishing the rally Sunday, riding about 3.5 hours home, and then changing tires to road tires for the track. That would be an intense four days of riding.

Thank you very much. This was my "next GPS" until now. Now I'm on the Montana train.

I have an Oregon also... very nice little GPS, but I wouldn't think of having it powered via USB on the bike... batteries only. I accepted this fact when I bought it. The the USB wire plugged in, the connection surely wouldn't be able to handle continuous vibration for long.

I subsequently bought a 60Cx with hopes that the more sturdy 4-pin Garmin serial plug would be better suited for offroad riding, however, it only took me a few months before I mashed the fragile pins inside the unit. Now, it's batteries only for that one, too!

A Montana is definitely on my radar.

Oregon is a great little handheld, good for geocaching and hiking. I use it as a second unit zoomed in with topo maps when exploring on my DR. On batteries.

My team is looking for truck/trailer parking for three vehicles and two trailers near the Rideau River campground. Any locals have storage space, or can point us towards someplace that might? Thanks!
