Kawi KE rebuild help

Does anyone know if all KE series bikes (100/125/175) have interchangeable engines and fuel tanks

I have an part of an early 80's KE175 but I'm lacking an engine/gearbox, fuel tank, carb and seat.... So only a few unimportant bits :P Does anyone know if I could just bolt an engine, tank etc from a KE100 or 125 onto a 175 frame? Or would it require adapting the frame.

I know the 100 and 125 have completely different routing for the exhaust and fuel petcock position. I'd guess other parts mount similar. Personally I think it will be a bit of work to fit components that weren't designed for frame.

How good are you at welding?

The KE100/125/175 all have completely different engine designs. Not much, if any, interchangability.

The fuel tanks on the 100 and 125 are different, as are the frames and suspensions. The tanks on the 125 and 175 look similar, but not sure if they are interchangeable.

I have a '74 KS125 that I have owned since new. It was an all new design that year and based on the all new KX125 that came out to compete with the Honda CR125 from the prior year. The KS125 then became the KE125 the next year.

The F7 175 was redesigned to become the KE175.

The KE100 has been basically the same from the mid '70's until about 2001.

I also had a '78 KE250, which was also completely different from the KE175.

As has already been said, not much similarity... Ke100 has a left side exhaust, 125 and i think 175 is right side... There may be some interchangeability between the 125 and 175, but i dont know for sure... I have an 01 ke100...i need to freshen up the top end on it though...LOL
