2013 Klim Adventure Rally 2 Pics
Fellow ADV Riders,
Got some more details and some final pics of the 2013 Klim Adventure Rally suit pics....enjoy!! http://www.atomic-moto.com/Klim-Adve...ket_p_828.html ![]() ![]() Rear View: ![]() Shoulder Detail: ![]() Arm Regulation Detail: ![]() Collar Detail: ![]() Armor: ![]() Compared to the original, it is clear the ADVR2 has a more traditional ADV touring fit, not as loose. Also has LOTS of venting, and abrasion protection. They are still on target for early March arrival, and this seems a REAL date. Anyone interested in pre-orders, contact us. Now we know why the price went up. This might be the only suit on earth that is 100% Armacor other than the, even better for abrasion, huge Superfabric panels. Impressive for sure, and aesthetically more approachable

Some more details…
The ADVRx2 is more substantial than the original. Ex: Size 2X in the original version was 7.6 lbs with all armor. Size 2X in the new Rally is 9.3 lbs. That weight is actually the difference in the Xergo D3O pads, and the deflexion chest armor. I have been critical of the d3o armor for its small size, and thankfully the new Xergo pads are MUCH larger, both in area and thickness. Some of the weight also comes from the fact that there is more epoxy in the superfabric beads than what was used in the original version, but that is minimal. For comparison.....the ADV Rally 2 does all this while being LIGHTER than the the Badlands. Comparing the two, without armor in them, the shell is actually lighter than Badlands and also the original by a few ounces. The fit is the biggest benefit to the Rally 2. Klim never liked the fit of the original jacket. The original was not designed to “carry” armor, it was intended to go over a compression suit. This gave it a bulky, billowy feel. The fit of the new Adv Rally has a more snug, tailored fit to it, but it has stretch Gore-Tex for ease of movement. Their R&D calls this “Action Patterning”, and it gives a better range of motion when riding a motorcycle. Most importantly.....the armor will be MUCH more stable inside the jacket during a crash. Venting is the biggest improvement. The ADVR2 venting is more extensive but also smarter; vents placed in the most effective areas to eliminate inside heat and cool the body. Most riders buying this jacket will be riding a bike with a windshield or faring. They went away from the torso vents on the original Rally, which worked when standing, but not in all bike applications. The new design has an upper torso vent, in front of the armpit, a bicep vent, a forearm vent and a large vertical vent on each side of the back. The vents in the arm are very effective in cooling the body. An interesting point: Klim says that for both snow and moto, adding vents to the forearm area are more effective in dropping core temps than a torso vent. Lyndon Poskitt and Ned Suise tested a few different versions of the arm vents on the Adv Rally and some custom Valdez jackets. They were very vocal about adding those vents on the Adv Rally. Hope that helps. BP Brtp4 screwed with this post 01-22-2013 at 01:32 PM |

I got an up close and personal guided tour of a pre production jacket at the KTM rally from the guy who designed all the Adventure rally jackets. I have been on the list at Atomic moto ever since. It looks like a the best features of the Badlands and Adventure rally were combined.
I love my first gen jacket and feel a little guilty about replacing it since I have beat the crap out of it and it hardly shows it, at least after I wash the dirt off it. ![]()

Looks good in the photos
These look great....timing is good for me needing a new suit of armor. Want to put my hands on them but thinking Air jacket and R2 pants combo. Nothing worst than being too hot. Can add a layer but hot is hot.

I have the original ADV suit and about everything else Klim sells. The waterproof is still there after more than 20 washings. The most notable wear is fabric fuzzies around the end of the sleeves from the velcro snagging it.
So the outer WP jacket is include with the Air mesh jacket or in addition $350? BTW Klim replaced my pant zipper free even though I told them if it was from a fall. I hope that kind of service does not change under Polaris.

I called Klim to ask about availability and was told that the new version of the Rally jacket and pant has been delayed until 2014. Was the person I spoke to confused about the model change over or is there truth in this?
I was hoping to buy the new version but if its delayed until next year I guess I'll go with the current generation. Thanks for any light you can shed on this!
