You should try the KLR forums, they all have something similar...

I tried a gel pad on one of my R1200RT's, but found that the Airhawk was better. The gel pad didn't do much for me, but your experience may be different since we're talking about a different seat. Since then, I simply plan on switching out the seat on any BMW I buy.
