Any Bay Area cat lovers? Could use your help...
Not sure if this is the right place to post, but here goes--
My 79 year old mother has been progressing through the stages of Alzheimer's disease for a few years, and one of the things that has given her some comfort has been the companionship of her two pet cats. Unfortunately she has declined to the point where they no longer give her comfort and instead have become another source of confusion. She no longer recognizes them as her pets and tries to escort them out the door of her assisted living apartment, and doesn't remember to feed them any longer.
My wife and I and her caregivers are making sure her cats are cared for, but I think it's best for them and her to find the cats a new home. My big ol' dog is very well behaved, except when it comes to cats...
If you come across this and know of anyone who would like to adopt these two guys, please PM me.
They are approximately 10 years old from the same litter, one male (neutered) and one female (spayed), healthy, well mannered indoor only cats. I've kept them up on vet visits, although they are due for their annual checkup and will do that (and any vaccines etc. needed) before they are adopted. Have two carriers that can go with them as well.
Thanks for your help!
