I'm curious as to what most of you SE riders are doing for insurance on your bike? Liability only or full coverage? For me it is a difference of $17/mo ($2.66/mo liability only; $19.64/mo full). Not much in the grand scheme of things but these bikes aren't exactly a dime a dozen either. I only run liability on the EXC. What are your thoughts and thanks for sharing?

Ultimately, UM/UIM is the one coverage you need NOT skimp on- it's the only one that insures YOU for losses caused by some cell-phone texting soccer mom trying to kill ya.

OK, so I went with liability plus UIM coverage from our larger policy...that's just good advice there as every motorcyclist should/probably already knows.
That said, I put my new bash plate (from LAKEMONSTER), adventure pegs, and Scott's plus triple clamp on the SE! Still waiting on my larger tank and gel seat from PowerCell but in the mean time I'll install the CPR Bulldog air filter and remove the stock air box I modified last month...oh Indian summer hang in there! I'm installing the new wiring harness as I work through the chassis. There won't be anything to surprise me next year out in the middle of nowhere after this...famous last words...(I'm knocking already!) |

Been working on the SE a lot over the past few weeks. Repairing the wiring harness but also adding bit of this and that and removing others. I'm hopeful I can have it "finished" up tomorrow night. Just have to put the carbs back on and add the CPR filter (air box removed). Hopefully it'll fire right up. Wish me luck!

There are a fair number in Colorado that I'm aware of. In addition to my two I ride with six between Denver and Colo. Spgs. Most fun you can have on a big dualie. 0 to traffic court on the street in 4 seconds on the street.

Mine is still traveling South America, no better bike for it. This was Saturday and about a minute after this photo was taken, my voltage regulator went up in smoke while we were standing there.
I unplugged all my fuses and made it to the highway before my battery gave up and after a trip home in a moving truck, I luckily had a spare waiting (thanks Uli and wisdom of the forum), a Rick's mosfet. Otherwise, I would have been down for a long time (month?) without parts.
